Ionic Notation and Ionic Compounds

These lessons will help you understand ionic notation and ionic compounds.

You will need your periodic table.

Ionic Compound Balancer (Applet) - Only one I know of on the web. Make sure you can do this. It's on the TAKS test! (If you don't understand what's going on, start working the exercises on the left.)

(For background information please see: Ions and Ionic Notation.)

Prelesson: Ions (MC) - You MUST know this information to understand ions.

Ionic Notation (M) - There is an easy trick to this one - see if you can figure it out.

More Ionic Notation (M) - If you can do this one, you can probably write balanced ionic compound formulas

Ionic Charges (M) - Practice finding the charges of ions from the number of protons and electrons.

Net Charge (M) - Understand how adding of ions equal a net charge for the molecule.

Net Charge 2 (MC) - Very important. This will help you a lot.
